Aaron Wins Another Stroke Competition

Aaron Doyle who won this week’s stroke competition with a nett 68, it was his 2nd win in four week’s.

   Saturday’s monthly medal stroke competition at Silverwood Golf Club was won by the young Aaron Doyle  with an impressive Nett 68 (-4) score playing off a 10 handicap. Aaron returned an impressive 78 gross (+6) which included 11 pars, 5 single bogeys, a double bogey and a good birdie at the 13th hole, helping him to victory. Aaron will be rewarded for his efforts with a new single figure, 9 handicap. In second place with a Nett 68 and narrowly beaten on countback was 6 handicapper Lenny Mc Cann. Lenny reached the turn in +1 gross, and the same score for the back nine. Four birdies on holes 8,9,12,18 gave an impressive 74 gross. Coming third, again returning a Nett 68 score was Barry Mc Cabe (11). Barry had a very tidy card with 11 pars and 7 bogeys. Gross prize this week was won by 3 handicapper Kevin Munster with a +1 gross 73. 3 birdies, 4 bogeys and remainder pars were his tally. In fourth place with a solid score of Nett 69 was Paul McFadden (13) with a valiant effort of gross 82. In 5th spot was Derek Boyd (13) also with a nett 69. Section winners: Low-Finbar Headley (Nett 70), Middle- Gary Ferguson (Nett 72) & High: Kieran McAlinden (Nett 72).
