Pat Wins In Terrible Conditions

It was a terrible day for golf at Silverwood Golf Club on Saturday and there was a low turn out because of the weather, but this did not deter Pat Curran who won the competition with 40 points, he had one birdie on the 2nd hole and two pars at the 4th and 7th holes, along with one double bogey at the 8th hole and five bogeys, his back nine had two pars at the 10th and 14th holes, four bogeys, and three double bogeys to win by two point’s.

In 2nd place was Matthew Madden with 38 points he had a gross 75 with two birdie’s at the 12th and 15th holes along with 11 par’s, and five bogey’s, and now head’s off along with Fintan Mc Areavey to represent the club at St Andrew’s in Scotland in the N.S.P.P.C and the club wish’s both player’s the best of luck in the competition.

3rd place went to Gary Ferguson with 38 point’s, he had two birdie’s at the 2nd and 7th hole’s seven par’s, five single bogey’s, three double bogey’s and one no- score on his card.

The gross prize went to Fintan Mc Areavey with a gross 74 he had a front nine of 36 with one birdie at the 4th hole, two bogey’s at the 2nd and 6th holes, and six par’s, along with a back nine of 37 that included one birdie at the 13th hole, one double bogey at the 16th hole, and seven par’s.

4th prize went to Brendan Campbell with 37 point’s and the 5th prize was picked up by Gareth Magee with the same amount of point’s.

The Senior prize was won by Eamon Mc Conaghy with 36 pts
