Sam Has Best Score On Week 4 Of Winter League

Sam claims top spot at Week 4 at Siverwood Golf Club

Week 4 of the winter league got underway on Saturday despite some heavy rainfall midweek. With the course playing its full length, at the top of the pile with the best score of the week was Sam Frazer with an impressive 42 points playing off a 17 handicap. Sam scored 20 points on his outward nine with 22 points on the inward nine aided by 10 pars on his card.

Second place in the mid-section was won by Darren O’Hanlon with 39 points, holding off Bernard McKeever (coming third) also with 39 points.

Leonard Mc Cann claimed top spot in the low (0-12 handicap) category with a very impressive score of 41 points, playing off a 5 handicap. Leonard had a very tidy card with two birdies (hole 1 & 17) and two bogey’s (hole 2 and 3) with par scores obtained on the remaining holes for a commendable level par gross 72.

Second place in the low section was won by Paul McFadden with 40 points playing off a 12 handicap. In third place was Thomas Smyth (6) with 39 points.

In the high section (19-28 handicap) Patrick Curran won top prize with 39 points. Thomas Marley claimed second place with 39 points. Paul Marner came third in this category with 38 points.

Junior prize was won by Nathan Thompson with 37 points. Gross prize was won by Fintan McAreavey with 36 points, 73 (+1) gross comprised of 3 birdies, 4 bogey’s and remainder pars.
