Saturdays sunshine was well embraced by members and the player returning victorious was nineteen handicapper Patrick Curran with a score of 40 stableford points. His back nine was very tidy with 6 no. bogeys, two pars (holes 14 & 18) and a birdie three at the 13th. Great return for Pat with his first competition win.

In second place was fifteen handicapper Damian Mc Dowell with a return of 39 points. Damian played very steady indeed with 18 points on his opening nine with key highlights including a par at the second hole and a valuable birdie at the third hole, kick starting his round. His inward nine of 21 points included a very strong finish with par scores recorded at the 12th, 13th, 14th and 18th holes. Another birdie at the difficult Par 4 15th hole was key to keeping the momentum of Damian’s round going.

In third place and again featuring in the prizes for the third week running was Junior member Conor McCabrey (11) with 39 points. Conor’s front nine included one double bogey (5th hole), 4 bogeys, 2 pars (holes 2 & 3) & 2 great birdies (holes 4 and 9) giving him 19 points. His inward nine was very steady with 5 pars and 4 bogeys for a gross 80 (+8).  Conor is rewarded with a new handicap 10, which is a positive move towards his goal of a single figure handicap.

In fourth place, also with 39 points was Gary Duffy (9). Gary’s round was very steady with 8 bogeys, 8 pars and two birdies (holes 9 & 18). Gary now sees himself playing off a new 8 handicap for his consistent scoring.
