It was the president’s day at Silverwood golf club on Saturday and with the heavy ground conditions and the tees well back, it proved to be another good challenge for the members, the winner with a fine score of 42 pts was Paul Johnston he had a front nine of 20pts with five pars at the 1st 3rd 4th 7th and 9th holes, two double bogey at the 2nd and 6th holes and two single bogeys, his back nine of 22pts contained four pars at the 11th 12th 13th and 14th holes and five single bogeys to win by one point.

In 2nd place was Liam Mackle with 41pts, he had 20 pts on his front nine with one birdie at the 7th hole four pars at the 4th 5th 6th and 8th holes and four bogeys, his back nine of 21pts had only two bogeys at the 15th and 16th holes and seven pars for a steady round of golf.

3rd place went to Shane O Neill with 40pts he had 19pts on his front nine with one birdie at the 4th hole, three bogeys at the 2nd 3rd and 5th holes, and five pars, his back nine of 21pts included one birdie at the 18th hole, two bogeys at the 10th and 17th holes, and six pars.

The 1st gross prize went to Fintan Mc Areavey with an excellent score of gross 69 three under par, he has a front nine of 33 with two birdies at the 1st and 7th holes, and seven pars, and a back nine of 36 with two birdies at the 12th and 18th holes, his only bogey at the 16th hole and six pars for yet another sub-par round of golf for this consistent player.

The 4th prize went to Barry Mc Cabe with 39pts, he had 19pts on his front nine, with five pars at the 4th 5th 7th 8th and 9th holes, and four single bogeys, and a back nine of 20pts that had seven pars, one double bogey at the 16th hole, and one single bogey at the 13th hole.

The 2nd gross prize went to John Lynch with 35 gross pts.

5th place went to club captain Michael Mc Donald with 39pts.

The senior prize went to Paul Moore with 38 pts.

The 1st junior prize went to James Judge with 36pts.

The 2nd junior prize went Dara Morgan with 33pts
